Character's gender: Female Series the character is from: Miyuki-chan in Wonderland Point in canon they're being taken from: Post-series (for what that's worth in this series) Brief background: Miyuki is just your average high school student: she tries to be on time for school, manage her part-time jobs and dreams of one day marrying and living a normal, happy life. It's just that CLAMP have other ideas. Miyuki has a tendency to get trapped in various (usually fictional) worlds, whereupon their (exclusively female) inhabitants proceed to harass our poor heroine. These worlds include the works of Lewis Caroll, movies, video games, manga, one of her part-time jobs, and X the movie, because not even CLAMP can take X seriously. These, er, adventures, besides being seemingly neverending, are of an episodic nature and the chronological timeline is fuzzy at best. It's never outright stated if Miyuki's adventures are because of her subconscious trying to tell her something, a world-travelling power that she cannot consciously control, or just the works of some cruel god with a disturbing sense of humour. Personally I'd go with the first or third option. Personality: Miyuki's most pronounced character trait is her desire to be "normal" and a good, proper girl who does well in school and can successfully keep a job. Her ultimate goal in life is to find a good husband, something which would naturally be impossible to accomplish if people were to find out about her various misadventures (thank you, slut-shaming and victim-blaming society). She's spazzy, easily embarrassed and scandalized, prudish and may initially come across as something of a doormat, as she usually goes along - even if reluctantly - with whatever shenanigans the various ladies she encounters are up to, as long as they're not actively coming on to her. She does, however, have a lot of integrity and determination, and there's a definite limit to how much crap she will put up with. Even if actual physical struggle seems to be a last resort for her, she will question the logic of what's going on right from the start. With that said, Miyuki is not one to dwell too much on past mishappenings and quickly cheers up even in the middle of one of her adventures if someone shows her kindness. | ||||||||||
